Our Projects

A seven-phase plan to rebuild Phoenix.

Every phase builds on the one before it — starting at the school gate and growing outward into the whole community.

Phase 1 · Active

Water for Schools

Backup water storage tanks, pressure pumps and controllers installed at schools so learners are never sent home for a dry tap again. This is SSBF's founding project and the one currently open for school registrations and sponsorship.

Phase 2 · Planned

Solar for Schools

Solar panels with partial (around 50%) battery backup capacity for participating schools — covering lighting, water pumps, computer labs and science labs. Because schools operate mainly during the day, solar generation is matched to daytime use, with battery backup reserved for evening and weekend community activities.

Phase 3 · Planned

Fix Our Schools

Repairing and upgrading school facilities, particularly STEM labs, and opening school venues for evening and weekend use — night classes, skills training and mentorship from retired professionals. Planned offerings include free PC literacy and AI skills classes, small business and budgeting workshops, senior citizen meetups, yoga and meditation, and school vegetable gardens / hydroponics projects that feed local food kitchens and generate income.

Phase 4 · Planned

Community Upliftment

A "Fixing Phoenix" clean-up initiative — clearing overgrown areas, repairing pavements and potholes, improving lighting and fencing, and tackling illegal dumping across the township.

Phase 5 · Planned

Secure Our Community

A CCTV monitoring network run from school computer labs, in partnership with the local Community Policing Forum (CPF), SAPS, private security companies and community volunteers — with cameras strategically placed in high-impact areas to deter crime and illegal dumping.

Phase 6 · Planned

Funding Our Projects

Outdoor advertising sites — digital billboards and street-pole ad frames — to generate sustainable income for the Foundation's projects and running costs, while dedicating a share of advertising airtime to community awareness campaigns.

Phase 7 · Planned

Web 4 Education Project

Websites and digital learning resource portals for every participating school, giving learners, parents and staff access to applications and educational material online.

Start with us at Phase 1

Water for Schools is open now for school sign-ups and sponsorships. Every later phase depends on the schools and partners who join us first.
